Qigong

Qigong is a traditional Chinese mind-body practice that combines gentle movements, controlled breathing, and focused awareness to support physical health, mental relaxation, and overall wellbeing.

With roots stretching back thousands of years, Qigong has long been practised as part of traditional Chinese health cultivation. Today, it is increasingly recognised as a gentle and accessible form of exercise that can complement modern healthcare and support a healthier lifestyle.

What Does Qigong Mean?

The word Qigong (氣功) consists of two Chinese characters:Qi (氣) refers to the concept of vital energy or life force in Traditional Chinese Medicine.Gong (功) means skill or ability developed through consistent practice.

Together, Qigong can be understood as the practice of cultivating and harmonising the body’s energy through movement, breathing, and mindful awareness.

In modern health terms, Qigong encourages the connection between the body and mind, promoting relaxation, body awareness, balance, and controlled movement.
